During this part of the tour clients cannot disembark the vehicle; they will view the landmarks from the comfort of their vehicle. It is not allowed to disembark from the vehicle to see from up close the Parliament and Panathenaic stadium and then hop on again. The only part that they can stop and get off is at Lycabettus Hill, where if they wish they can walk up to the St. George Chapel to take some panoramic pictures.

Discover some historical treasures of Chania!

Visit Venizelos Graves, which has magnificent views from amongst the trees, on a hill above Chania, across the town, Venetian harbour and sweeping over the sea & beyond. Best place to pause enjoy the view.

The Monastery of Agia Triada (Holy Trinity), or Tzagarolon Monastery as it is also known, is one of the most impressive monasteries you will see in Crete. It is 15 kilometers from Chania, very close to Chania Airport and the equally – famous Monastery of Gouverneto. The Monastery of Agia Triada has a distinctive façade with Doric columns, but the elements of Renaissance architecture remind us that the monastery was built by the Cretan monks Ieremias and Lavrentios, of the Venetian Orthodox Tzagarolos family.

One of the most interesting archaeological sites in western Crete.

Aptera was inhabited since Minoan times. Within the site, you can visit impressive Roman cisterns, ruins of Roman bathhouses, a newly excavated theater, and the monastery of Agios Ioannis Theologos in which there is an excellent presentation of the site of Aptera. To the North of the hill, a large Ottoman fort overlooks the whole of Souda Bay.

Chania Crete
The Natural Tour of Imbros Gorge - Private Hike

Imbros Gorge, Crete’s second most popular after Samaria, spans 11 kilometers and narrows to just 1.60 meters. The hike takes 2-3 hours, leading through wildflower meadows and a breathtaking 75-minute stretch with walls less than 2 meters apart, soaring 300 meters high.

Legend has it that two brothers from Imbros, Turkey, settled in Imbros village, and the gorge once linked Chania and Chora Sfakion. During World War II, it aided in evacuating British soldiers to Egypt.

The hike concludes in Komitades village, where you can relax at a restaurant before heading to Chora Sfakion.

Our bus will pick you up at your hotel, and after a 90-minute drive, we’ll begin at Imbros village located at an altitude of 780 meters. You can enjoy coffee or breakfast at a café at the entrance. Guided by our licensed trekking guide, the 3-hour walk through the gorge features native plants and area insights. Afterward, we reach Komitades village for lunch with a view of the Libyan Sea. The tour wraps up with a visit to Chora Sfakion, where you can swim in the Libyan Sea. Late in the afternoon, our bus takes you back to your hotel.

Hiking Information

The descent covers 8 km and 650 m, making it roughly half the length of Samaria Gorge. Unlike Samaria, Imbros features a round scree in the dry creek bed, making it challenging.

Two of the exceptional museums of Santorini are situated in Fira as well, the Archaeological Museum of Thera and the Museum of Prehistoric Thera.

The Archaeological Museum has exhibits mainly from ancient Thira as well as artifacts from all the various historical periods of the island from the 5th century to the Roman times while the Museum of Prehistoric Thera, which has a number of historical objects from different places of the island and from different periods of history as well as most of the material found during the excavations in Akrotiri.

Another interesting landmark is the Cultural Center of Megaro Gyz, which is housed in a 17th-century mansion and features old photographs, paintings, and manuscripts.

In pirates’ caves Kleftiko, Papafragas, Sarakiniko, Katergo… The formidable pirates of the Middle Ages had their hideouts in Milos. Traces of their existence can be found in Kleftiko, where the pirates’ bollards for their ships can be found sculpted on the spectacular rocks, beside blue-green water next to the caves. In Sarakiniko, the landscape is from another world: all-white rocks in mesmerising shapes dominate the cove. Get lost in the deep blue of the Aegean and feel nature embrace you.

Little Venice In the afternoon take a stroll in the quaint, colourful hamlet above the water, where the old port of Ancient Milos used to be.
