Athens by bike tour

Cycling in Greece: 10 Days by Bike Through Athens, Mykonos & Paros

This 10-day trip is cycling in Greece at an easy pace, with sea views and good food as the reward. In Athens a licensed guide takes you up the Acropolis before you switch to e-bikes for a ride past the city’s monuments, and the next day a group ride along the Vouliagmeni coast stops for coffee by the lake and at the Temple of Apollo Zostir. On Mykonos you cycle past the Ano Mera reservoir to Fokos beach for a picnic with organic Myconian wine. Paros gets three rides: a rural loop through Prodromos, Marmara and Marpissa, a coastal ride from Naoussa to Piso Livadi, and an e-bike day to Pounda and across to Antiparos for its cave and a beach picnic.

Highlights

Your Athens ride starts with a two-hour private tour of the Acropolis and continues for about three hours on quality e-bikes with a bike tour leader, snack pack included. The Vouliagmeni tour sets off from the gates of the Four Seasons Astir Palace and ends at Kavouri Beach, with e-bikes available on request. The Mykonos route is 9 km on mostly easy terrain, past a small chapel and the Kissing Rocks, with a swim at Fokos if the weather allows. On Paros an English speaking instructor rides with you on both private tours, and the Antiparos day in a group of up to eight adds the ferry from Pounda, the stalactites of the cave and free time in the village before the boat back to Parikia.

As you cycle through the countryside, you pause at a small chapel where your guide shares insights into local customs and stories that reveal the island’s character. The ride continues along the peaceful reservoir of Ano Mera on soft earth terrain, gradually leading you toward the serene, non-touristic beach known as the “Kissing Rocks,” where Mykonos feels wonderfully untouched.

At Fokos beach, you settle into a relaxed seaside picnic spot, the perfect setting to enjoy homemade local delicacies and the highlight of the tour: organic Myconian wine. Weather permitting, the crystal-clear waters invite you in for a refreshing swim, with your guide happy to capture fun underwater images; if swimming is not ideal, an easy trail along the hillside offers a scenic walk with panoramic views of the Aegean and the dramatic rock formations.
